About Us
Spreading Brazilian culture
Brasil Sunshine is a Franco-Brazilian cultural association that brings music, tales, dance and Brazilian traditions to audiences of all ages.
Since its creation, the association offers young audience shows, Brazilian music concerts, cultural mediation workshops and mermaid classes. Each project is an invitation to travel, joy and discovery of Brazil's cultural richness.
Based in Capbreton in the Landes region of south-west France, Brasil Sunshine performs in schools, libraries, festivals, cultural centres, weddings and private events throughout France.
Our story
Brasil Sunshine was born from the meeting between Dom Oliveira, a musician from Rio de Janeiro, and Danaé Dugardyn, a French artist with an international career. Both driven by a shared passion for Brazilian culture and the desire to build bridges between France and Brazil.
Dom, a multi-instrumentalist and composer, carries within him the essence of Brazilian popular music. Danaé, a dancer, acrobat, singer and writer, lived ten years in Rio de Janeiro where she developed her artistic universe. Their complementarity gave birth to a unique association, where transmission and sharing are at the heart of every action.
Together, they created children's shows (Tale of the Sabiá, Love and the Sea, Feet in Icy Water), musical ensembles (Dom & Danaé, Les Afrolandais, Txorinho, Sambastian), and wrote illustrated books accompanied by audio tales in multiple languages.
